Tips for Brand New Gardeners
Everyone is capable of learning how to grow a fabulous garden. Even if you have never been particularly good with plants, if you pay attention to the right gardening advice you can grow a marvelous garden even if your available space is small. Even if you have zero yard or patio space available. Some people are able to grow whole gardens indoors! If you want to grow a garden of your very own and learn how to properly care for your plants, keep reading. This is the article that you need.
It is a good idea to put together a schedule to follow if you want to grow more than one type of plant. Write down each plant’s watering schedule. Schedule the times when you need to add nutrients to your garden soil. Map out all of the important stuff on a gardening calendar and then check that calendar every day for instructions. You could even schedule weedings! This mapping and scheduling will help ensure that your plants grow to be healthy and thriving. Keeping a written schedule will do wonders for keeping you on track when you are a brand new gardener.
Bell peppers are a fantastic item to add to your garden. These plants can grow just about anywhere and they love the sun. They are plants that require little water. The good news is that these plants actually prefer drier ground because they originated in dry parts of the world. Like most other types of vegetables and fruits, there are many different varieties of bell peppers which is one of the reasons that home vegetable growers like them. New gardeners enjoy growing bell peppers because they grow and ripen quickly so it is easy to feel like you are actually accomplishing something when you grow them. Just keep them under bright sun or grow lights for most of the day, water them once in a while and make sure the soil has lots of nutrients and you should be fine.
Remember that gardening is a year round activity. Even during the colder months of winter, when almost nothing is blooming, you can find work to do. For example, you will need to prepare your garden’s soil for colder weather. Most of the spring plants you enjoy are supposed to be planted during the last frosting season of the year. Learn how to take care of your garden even when the plants are not blooming. Gardens thrive more if you work on them all year long.
Growing your plants inside during the winter months is a fantastic way to begin your garden while you are waiting for the ground to be warm enough for planting. Starting seedlings inside of a warm home while you wait out the last days of winter is a very common practice. This is a good way to keep your plants safe and not have to worry about bad weather killing your plants before they can really get started (this happens a lot when new gardeners plant to soon). Letting your seedlings grow indoors for four to six weeks goes a long way to ensuring their survival when they finally get planted outside.
As you put in the time and effort your gardens will continue to grow bigger and more beautiful!
